Post Bus in Bernese Oberland Last Bus of the Day! No more welcome sight after a gruelling climb to the Faulhorn (8750 feet) (seen in the bakground) and back than this Vetter-bodied Mercedes arriving at Bussalp to carry our weary bodies back to the fleshpots of Grindelwald! An interesting discovery near Lausanne on 8 April 1980 was former London Transport Weymann-bodied RT2156 (KGK 965), of which the upper deck had been reduced in height, presumably to conform to Swiss regulations. © Ian Charlton
Rattin, Schaffhausen 5 (SH.14130) is a normal control Saurer 4C-P, typical of the type of bus once used on PTT bus services, although this example is in Rattin’s own blue livery instead of PTT yellow. Whilst many of PTT’s own buses of this type were right-hand drive, so that the driver could more easily see the edge of narrow mountain roads, this one is left hand-drive.
